HOW TO SET A LARGE HOLIDAY TABLE ON A BUDGET

HOW TO SET A LARGE HOLIDAY TABLE ON A BUDGET

This will be my husband and I’s third year hosting Christmas dinner at our house and we absolutely love having our family and friends over. In fact, we typically don’t need a specific holiday to invite people over; we find any excuse. This Christmas we hosted a little over 20 people and because I love a good ambiance and enjoy decorating, I wanted to welcome our family and friends with a little touch of class; of course.  What I found challenging was  creating a pretty table on a budget because bebeyyyy after that Kenya trip I took last month, ya girl has been on slim diet (budget) aka tight with the coins lol

So I pulled out my thinking cap and came up with a few cool tricks to create this look without spending lots of money on decorations; we all know how expensive it can be just trying to stage your tables.

Here are some things I did:

I took a trip to dollar tree and purchased about 10$ (dollar each) of these holiday bouquets.

The placemats and dinnerware I already had so I didn’t have to go out and purchase any, thank God. I already had candles and candle holders from our last dinner party we hosted for my sisters birthday/baby shower.

These mini trees with the burlap cloth wrapped around were found at Marshalls for $5.99 each so I bought 3 of them. The table cloth was found at Ross for $9.99, I purchased two. The second table I didn’t have to purchase much because I had some Christmas table decors from last year and was able to incorporate a few items to compliment the first table. I used white bed sheets for the second table and added a table runner (which I already had) on top to jazz it up. Again, I had lots of candles from previous dinner parties so I reused the ones I had.

Total cost for two tables $47.97

Voila!! Instant fancy holiday table! The only thing I regret not purchasing are those really nice plastic dinnerwares to avoid cleaning up the dishes. There’s something about a pretty table that makes eating fun and encourages the little ones to be a bit more careful on the table lol not! that was a joke..
